Can we take food on the plane? You might have heard of this question several times. The simplest answer to this question is YES! You are allowed to take pretty much any kind of food on to a plane. But make sure, if you carry any food item in liquid form, make sure you are going to end up with a big trouble. People sometimes takes the rules and guidelines of TSA for granted and bring those foods that are liquid in nature. It is important to understand that once you get caught with these liquid items at the checkpoint, you may not only end up with wasting your precious time but also the security will proceed strict interrogation with you that may result in losing the flight too. The formula is very simple, whether the food you carry meets the requirement of airport security, but if it spills, spread, sprays, pumps, or pour; the TSA will consider the food as gel or liquid.

The phenomenon also applies for the 3-1-1 liquids rule, in which the passengers is advised for any liquid, gel, cream, aerosol, or paste in a carry-on with just 3.4 ounces or less, and must be fitted in one quart-size bag, carried by one passenger. Now, despite the fact that these items are allowed on plane, still they may be taken for additional screening or not be permitted through the checkpoint in case if it triggers an alarm during screening procedure. Spreadable Foods and Cheese

The cranberry is in gelatinous form that keeps it far away from liquid territory. It must be noted that cans of cranberry sauce together with other similar jiggly and pourable foods should be kept in checked luggage. This type of luggage must possess gravy, containers of frosting, jams, jellies, soft butter, honey, syrups, salsa, dips, chutney, spreads, soup, pudding, salad dressing, and alike food products that look like these items. Most importantly, the TSA allows passengers for alcohol and other liquids in the carry-on, but the condition is that they should be packed in containers of 3.4 ounces or less.

Seafood and meats

The interesting part is that TSA allows passengers to bring meats, either in cooked form or raw, complete or sliced. There is no restriction in bringing solid form meat in your flight. However, the passenger must be aware that any food item such as meat must be properly sealed so that the smell does not pass. Essentially, try to make extra packaging on the food you bring. You can also bring eggs on plane that does not have to be hard-boiled. But permissible food item you carry on lane, don’t forget to apply good packaging over it.
